This year’s event will be on Saturday, April 30th 2011, at Sacred Heart Medical Center, RiverBend. Festivities start at 9:30 am and will run until around 1:30 pm. Come and go as you like, take breaks when you need to, or simply just watch. Dress for the weather, as we’ll be outside – and bring water (and snacks if you like). For the past few years here in Eugene, teachers, practitioners, and interested beginners have gathered to practice together. Turnout for these events has been wonderful – and a great time has been had by all. This year, we’ll be collecting donations for earthquake relief in Haiti. The event is free and open to the public, but any and all donations will be greatly appreciated. Especially by those devastated by the recent Caribbean natural disaster.
The general idea behind World Tai Chi & Qigong Day is to promote awareness of these age old arts – by creating a “wave” of Tai Chi & Qigong practice around the world. Group practice and demonstrations will begin in New Zealand at 10:00 AM, continuing around the globe to Hawaii. For more information on the worldwide event, click here.
